OUR IMPACT

EMAC in addition to providing Arbitration and Mediation services provides training on Mediation and arbitration, contributed for the establishment of Court Annexed Mediation services in Federal and Amhara Regional Courts and established Community level Mediation Centers in Addis Ababa.

EMAC trained over 200 mediators at Federal and regional level.

EMAC organized over 10 workshops and panel discussions covering different topics in ADR

EMAC organized awareness creation campaigns at Federal and regional level.

Mediation skill TOT training provided by EMAC

Mediation training was delivered to TOT on September 2022

EMAC also organized different workshops and experience sharing sessions on the laws of ADR in Ethiopia.

Arbitration and Mediation service

  • A fully functional venue for the provision of arbitration is set up at the center’s office in Addis Ababa.
  • Availability of a fully equipped Arbitration Center at the head office, strategically placed around Bole area, to be accessible to all, including international organizations and businesses seeking to resolve disputes through professional institutionalized arbitration, made institutionalized ADR service that meet international standards available and accessible.
  • Mediation services are provided by the center in Addis Ababa and the regions, at venues, where mediation rooms have been set up.

Research and Publications

  • Research conducted on CDRMs and three volumes of books were
  • published on the subject.
  • Need assessment on the benefit of engaging women in peace building and conflict resolution process
  • Min-research on the Importance of ratifying Singapore convention

Publications

  • Publications such as four volumes of journals on arbitral awards, detailing reasoning and decisions on disputes resolved through arbitration, which set precedent for future hearings and which helped enrich the jurisprudence in the area were published.
